SKP-2010 Activity Rules Celebrating the 151st Anniversary of the installation of the first telegraph line in Puerto Rico by Samuel Morse |
I. Objective
A. Primary: Have Fun!
B. Secondary: Go to basics, promote the preservation of CW in Amateur Radio and stimulate CW operation among Puerto Rican Amateur Radio operators.
C. Opening a great opportunity for amateurs of the world to obtain a KP4 QSL Card.
II. Party Period
A. Date: The party will be held the 6th of March 2010
B. Time: 1:00 PM trough 6:00 PM (AST) Local time.
III. Categories
A. Official Party
Station: Puerto Rico Amateur Radio League,
KP4ES
The PR Amateur Radio League is a member of the "SKCC"

B. KP4: Any station located in Puerto Rico archipelago signing /SKP.
C. Non-KP4: Stations not located in the Puerto Rico archipelago.
IV. Mode
A. CW Only (using straight key)
V. Exchange
A. A valid party contact should contain at least:
1. Other Station’s Signal Report (RST)
2. Other operator’s Name & Callsign
3. Other operator’s QTH [For US contacts -- State]
VI. Frequencies:
A. There are no band and/or frequency restrictions. Any amateur radio frequency may be used for a valid contact.
B. Suggested frequencies: 30khz above the CW lower sub-band limit.
C. KP4ES will operate at the following frequencies (± QRM):
1. 28.030 MHz, 28.130 MHz
2. 21.030 MHz, 21.130 MHz
3. 14.030 MHz
4. 7.030 MHz, 7.130 MHz
5. 3.530 MHz, 3.705 MHz
VII. Miscellaneous
A. For KP4 stations, a valid contact shall be done using a straight key.
B. It is encouraged the use of straight key for all stations.
C. Call signs and exchange information shall be received by each station for a complete QSO.
D. The use of /SKP is encouraged as part of the ID for KP4 stations. Example: KP4ES/SKP
E. A participating station may be contacted only once per band for a valid contact.
VIII. Reporting
A. Non-KP4:
1. It is encouraged Non-KP4 stations send their logs to Puerto Rico Amateur Radio League to measure the level of activity and result completeness. A Special Event QSL will be sent to all participating stations who confirm via QSL and send a SASE before June 1st, 2010.

B. KP4 Stations:
1. Mail confirming QSLs with SASE before June 1st, 2010 to get the Special Event QSL from KP4ES/SKP.

IX. Awards
A. KP4 and Non-KP4 Stations
1. A Special Event QSL will be awarded to any station who works KP4ES/SKP in any band. Participant must send a confirming QSL and SASE to get the Special Event QSL..
