La Liga Puertorriqueña de Radioaficionados llevará a cabo el evento especial "Third Straight Key Party-2006" el domingo, 16 de abril de 2006 las 1800 Z y 0200Z (lunes). Radioaficionados de todo el mundo participaran. 
[The Puerto Rico Amateur Radio League  will hold its THIRD Special Event "Straight Key Party" on April 16th, 2006 from 1800Z thru 0200Z (Monday). Amateurs from many countries will participate.]

Puerto Rico Straight Key Party Rules
Version 1.0 Official

I. Objective

  • A. Primary: Have Fun!
  • B. Secondary: Go to basics, promote the preservation of CW in Amateur Radio and stimulate CW operation among Puerto Rican Amateur Radio operators.

II. Party Period

  • A. The party will be held on the second Sunday of April each year. (Sunday, April 116th, 2006)
  • B. Time: 1800Z to 0200Z (Monday)   --- 8 hours

III. Categories

  • A. Official Party Station: Puerto Rico Amateur Radio League, KP4ES
  • B. KP4: Any station located in the Puerto Rico archipelago signing "/SKP"
  • C. Non-KP4: Stations not located in the Puerto Rico archipelago

IV. Mode

  •     A. CW only!

V. Exchange

  • A. A valid party contact should contain at least:
            1. The other station signal report (RST)
            2. The other operator name
            3 The other operator QTH

VI. Frequencies

  • A. There are no band and/or frequency restrictions. Any amateur radio frequency may be used for a valid contact
  • B. Suggested frequencies: 30 kHz above the lower sub-band limit
  • C. KP4ES will operate at the following frequencies (± QRM)
                1. 28.030 MHz, 28.130 MHz
                2. 21.030 MHz, 21,130 MHz
                3. 14.030 MHz
                4. 7.030 MHz, 7.130 MHz
                5. 3.530 MHz, 3.705 MHz

VII. Miscelaneous.

  •     A. For KP4 stations a valid contact must be made using a straight key
  •     B. It is encouraged that non-KP4 stations use a straight key also
  •     C. Call signs and exchange information must be received by each station for a complete QSO.
  • D. The use of "/SKP" is encouraged as part of the ID for KP4 stations.
            (Example: KP4ES/SKP).
  • E. A participating station may be contacted only once per band for a valid contact.
  • VIII. Reporting.
       
    A. Non-KP4:
           
    1. Non KP4 stations are encouraged to send their logs to the Puerto Rico Amateur Radio League so we can measure the level of activity and completeness of results. Q

    B. KP4 Stations:
       
1. A copy of the log must be submitted to PRARL within 45 days (this year- June 1st,2006) of the event to the mailing address shown above.
        2. Although paper logs are permitted, the use of electronic formats for log submittals is encouraged.

IX. Awards.
   
A. Non KP4 Stations:
           
1. A special Puerto Rico Straight Key Party Certificate will be awarded to none-KP4 stations that worked KP4ES/SKP in at least 2 bands and made at least 2 QSOs with other KP4 stations signing "/SKP". To be eligible for the certificate, QSLs confirming contacts with KP4 stations signing "/SKP". To be eligible for the certificate, the candidate must submit proof of the QSOs (i.e. log) with a SASE no later than 90 days after the party to the PRARL (see address above)
            2. To be eligible for a special Puerto Rico Straight Key Party QSL card, QSLs with SASE, confirming contact (s) with KP4ES/SKP shall be received no later than one year after the party. (Via KP4ES.)
            3. After one year the log will be considered closed.   

    B. KP4 stations:
            1. A special Puerto Rico Straight Key Party certificate will be awarded to those stations that submit their log showing more than 16 QSOs including at least one with KP4ES/SKP.

            2. A Signal Corps US Army J-38 (Made by The Lionel Corporation) straight key will be awarded to the operator with the highest number of QSOs logged during the activity.
